Chant one round of Guru Mantra on it. If you have not been initiated by any guru into a mantra, then simply chant the name of your guru on the chanting beads. If you don’t yet have a guru in your life, you can chant the following mantra:Om Gurubhayo Namah.

Chant one round of Astra Mantra on it. Generally, an Astra Mantra is imparted by the guru again. If you don’t have a guru or your guru hasn’t given you any, use the Astra Mantra specific to that sadhana. In this book, I list four sadhanas with their respective Astra Mantras. You can use them.

Chant one round of Gayatri Mantra. Once again, there are many forms of Gayatri Mantra, but here we are concerned with the mantra of Vedmata Gayatri, also known as Savitur Gayatri. Here’s the mantra:
